Drive and extraction problems
The drive or disc is missing
Section titled “The drive or disc is missing”- Check the drive’s connection and power, then insert an audio CD.
- Open OAC → Load Audio CD and click Refresh drives.
- Select the drive and read its status before clicking Load CD.
If the drive is still missing, check whether your operating system detects it. For a permission or unsupported-device error, include the exact message and USB adapter model in your problem report.
Secure extraction cannot start
Section titled “Secure extraction cannot start”Open Drive features from the drive-loading dialog, or Detect Read Features in Drive Options. Run detection, review the result, and click Save before trying extraction again.
For an Inconclusive cache result, leave Cache handling on Auto and repeat detection with another audio CD. See Set up your drive.
Extraction is slow
Section titled “Extraction is slow”Secure mode retries sections where reads disagree. Higher Error recovery quality settings allow more attempts.
If progress stalls at one section, inspect the disc for dirt or damage and try another drive. See Secure and burst reading for retry settings.
Recovery failed
Section titled “Recovery failed”The track reached its retry limit. Find the failed section in the report, inspect the disc, and copy that track again.
If another attempt fails at the same place, try extracting the track with a different drive.
AccurateRip reports Mismatched
Section titled “AccurateRip reports Mismatched”- Check the drive’s saved offset correction and whether it came from a lookup, calibration, or manual entry.
- Inspect the disc and extract the affected track again.
- If possible, compare the result from another drive.
If other discs verify with the same drive settings, the mismatch may come from a different pressing. See How verification works.
For Absent, Unavailable, or Incomplete, follow Read the results.
